Renault Duster Strong Hybrid Launched in India at ₹16.99 Lakh; Claims 29 km/l Mileage

Renault has expanded its new-generation Duster range in India with the introduction of a strong-hybrid powertrain. The new version is aimed at buyers seeking SUV practicality alongside improved fuel efficiency.

According to V3Cars, the Renault Duster Strong Hybrid has been launched at introductory ex-showroom prices ranging from ₹16.99 lakh to ₹19.49 lakh. Deliveries are expected to begin on November 6, 2026.

The hybrid system combines a 1.8-litre petrol engine with two electric motors. Unlike a conventional mild-hybrid system, a strong hybrid can use electric power to drive the vehicle under certain conditions, with the petrol engine and electric motors working together as required.

Renault claims an ARAI-certified fuel efficiency figure of 29 km/l for the Duster Strong Hybrid. Actual mileage will vary depending on traffic, driving style, road conditions and vehicle load.

The addition of the hybrid powertrain broadens the Duster's powertrain choices in India. Buyers can now consider the model according to their fuel preference, usage patterns and budget, rather than choosing solely between petrol and diesel alternatives.

The Duster competes in India's midsize SUV segment, where buyers increasingly compare purchase price, fuel economy, cabin space, equipment and long-term running costs. The strong-hybrid version adds another option for customers who want lower fuel consumption without relying on external charging.
